Last night, our daughter Disa took part in the last day of this year's West High Band Camp. Mr. Evans chose to wrap things up with a barbecue (no, not a real one, just burgers and dogs, but it was fun, anyway) and had the band perform for the parents. I will share some thoughts on the evening on this morning's program.

Also, we will visit with Dawn Finnych with Thornton Place about a new type of retirement living for active seniors.

First of all, I want to show appreciation to all who made Saturday's National Night Out such a wonderful event for Topeka. Even the wet weather couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of these neighborhood leaders who put these events together. And a big thank you to the people who organized the trolley tours. Wonderful job.
